The Cycle of Provocation
I keep hearing that the Remain Leave divisions are no longer as salient as they were, which is a good thing. But we are constantly being pushed into the same mindsets and the playbook that worked so well in 2015 and 2016 keeps being brought out again with things like the culture wars. And to me, it seems to function as a cycle of provocation that just builds and builds where you are constantly provoked. It's more of a cycle where you say something which you know will be rewarded because of the systems we have put in place... You are rewarded for moving to the extremes. I think there was a myth that because we get our information on the internet, mostly, we occupy these terribly narrow
