The Politics of Cynicism
I think that cynicism is it's tempting too because I think a lot of Americans in particular, and I've seen this in Italy last week. So because the expectation of trust for the satirist is low, it turns out the actual trust in the satirists is high. And because your expectation in the news media is not matched by what the newsmedia is doing, then the public gets cynical about it.
