The Protagonists in a Story
Rousseau most embodies a generic universalized human that has no commitments other than to the ideology in the state. We should have a more mythological view of people and frame ourselves as protagonists in a story, he says. This gives us a much more human dimension because now we don't have to whittle away all of those differences and suddenly you bind yourself being empathetic to that person due to their characteristics rather than abstract groups or oppressed or whoever it is.
