Sustainability is a balance between sustainable practices in the vineyard, responsible practices in the community and being environmentally responsible. The one thing that really has impressed me is how much the quality of wine has improved in virginia. In virginia, it's mostly what i call i tourism model. Most people visit the wineries from around virginia, from the d c, area, from o nearby and from maryland. But you don't find many wines forginia wines on wine lists of restaurants in other cities.
