The Failure of a State

The Middle Eastern country Yemen is often cited as a failed state due to a combination of political, economic and social challenges. The ongoing civil war between Houthi rebels and the internationally recognized government has resulted in widespread political instability. Geopolitical rivalries and interference by external powers can also exacerbate existing tensions and undermine governance. South Africa usually isn't included with the group of failed states.
