The Japanese peeled off 2.2 million bucks, the indemnity negotiated by the US and threw it at Uncle Sam. Although Pearl Harbor was still four years away, the Japanese knew whose side the Yangtze would be on sooner or later. Next episode we'll pick up on that dreadful day of December 12th, 1937.
