The Super Ego

The super ego begins much earlier than freud thought. We see evidence of the super ego in the first year of life. In a child in the paranoid, skizoid position, at the beginning, everything is either all good or all bad. Conscience and super to me, it makes every sense. It makes total symmetrical sense to have a conscience, separate from the super ego,. just as we separate good breast from bad breast.
