The Importance of Expected Returns in Indexing

Bo: It's really important to have your eyes open looking at expected returns. He says indexing should be compared to stock picking or active management frog picking, rather than this question about the overall expected return of the market. The only reason t mostrat to have a fixed acid applocation is if you believe that the expected return all on different acrid classes is just fixed relative to each other all the time - which i don't think anybody believes that exists.
