i get so excited when i see the browser every day because there is going to be at least one, usually two or three really good things in there that i want to read. To the bottom line for the browser is writing of lasting value. I don't want to and a piece that will seem dated to morrow. So generally speaking, i sense that we greatly overvalue recency in journalism. Every publication has a fantastic hintrland of stuff that, with a very few exceptions, it doesn't know how to surface.
