At the time of the trial, that knife was never tied to any of the three defendants. But years later, it was discovered that the knife had probably belonged to Jason Baldwin at one point but his mother had thrown it into the lake a year before the murders. So could not have been the murder weapon in this case because there's nothing on it as far as like blood or any sign of anything to prove that it was a murder weapon.
