productivity is having clarity about what you are going to do. And i think that's the big shift in thinking. Technology has, in a lot of ways, become a scapegoat for distraction. At the end of the day, distraction is caused from us as people trying to relieve some level of discomfort in our life. If all of us didn't have slack, if magically slack disappeared and our computers disappeared, we wouldn't be distracted. There'ld be other external triggers life, like now, my girl friend calling me to get my attention a, you know, the mail man being outside.
