The Repression of Innocence and Intersexuality
John Blake's poetry is about the return of the repressed. He thinks there should be more room for sexual expression in his society. But he has got no doubt that that is a complicated thing that has pain involved. His view of innocence and the growing intersexuality are difficult to understand without institutions then making people feel guilt about it.
