The Implications of Inequality for the Real World

Alex Vohova: The idea of equal citizenship characterizes an attractive social relationship that people from different political views can endorse. In terms of its concrete implications, take the example of those working poor who are on the borderline of falling into complete destitution if they lose their job. He says this ideal has been put in part into practice as one of the foundations of the welfare state. But he adds there is a third argument against inequality which would have radical implications for government policy.
