People sometimes think greed is somehow excessive, but it's just the basic psychology of self maximization. We all have to self maximize because self maximizing means we preserve for the future. If you want to live and be and have a decent quality of life in this system, there's a level of greed that you ave to maintain. That dosn't mean people can keep super neurotic with it.
