The only people who think the coalition as a group are better off at managing interest rates are those that have already paid off their home. Labour has got, in effect, a pretty good protective suit. I think Jim Chama's suit is going to be his three Rs. Rebuilding supply chains, restraining spending, and relieving energy prices. No one's going to touch negative gearing until they have to. But there is an opportunity to use this crisis to reopen fiscal conversations around these kind of measures.
