The Importance of Body Donation for First-Year Medical Students
In the past, anatomy classes were taught by people robbing graves or using unclaimed bodies. That's not ethically appropriate because these individuals aren't consenting to it. When body donation programs became more standardized last century, that was a big upgrade over grave robbing. Over time, there weren't enough bodies to go around for medical training and other techniques.
