Is the Brain Part of the Body?

The brain is a bodily organ, yes, but not if you buy into the logic of the thought experiment. We have no reason to believe could ever lead to the generation of subjective experience on a sial comparable to the one that you and i have right ther. It's almost as if we've transferred our views of dualism away from mind body dualism and on to brain, body dualism. And this idea is that there is something like the mind, our consciousness, our power of thinking, that transcends the body and that is actually separate from it.
