Rihanna: I think a big part of what was happening in your introductions as focus on character. You say, it can definitely be scaled up to talk about the moral character of a nation or culture. And so i'm wondering, like this, navigating the poles between your optimism and pessimism. Riht: One of the things that i have struggled with in this is actually less about the sort of interior movement of the book and more about its relationship to the intellectual currents around it.
