The last thing I would tell any salesperson is don't worry about the status quo. It turns out that's not actually an enemy at all. If you don't overcome the customer status quo, if you don't beat it, you're not selling anything. The pain of same is worse than the pain of change. Those are all commitment reasons and dialing up the FOMO with the status quo is a good way to get them off their feet.
