The Fallout From the Iraq War
After 15 years of reporting on British politics, it seems to me that a huge amount of what happened in the UK after 2003 is linked back to the Iraq war. The origin of a lot of the turnabouts we've seen in the last decade stem from the fact that many people fundamentally lost their trust in politics and politicians in the aftermath of the invasion. One of the voices in the paper that I followed devotedly through the war and after it was Jonathan Friedland, who I talked to these days about politics and the world a great deal. Very good being with you, Johnny.
