The primary impact of war has to do with the raw materials that come out of both russia and ukraine. Russia is a major producer of platium and nickel, which go into different aspects of semi conductor production. There are no sanctions on purchases of these, but there is concern at that these supplies may be effected. The biggest issue is that ukraine is a key supplier of neon, which is used to produce gases that control the highly sophisticated lazersth in chip making.
