We maybe will find out this mysterious Krigen dueling aim in the Dragon Knight event that happened. It was almost certainly a duel recreation, not some sort of earnest real battle for some reason. And we also know that Aegon the third had a good relationship with Krigen at least as far as it seemed from a high level view.
