I was so surprised to learn that carnations are like the second most popular flower in the United States. Carnations are no one's favorite flower. They have this sort of retro hipster vibe to them now. So they're what's available we buy them because they're there to buy and the reason we're buying them is not so much that we want them but that it was easier for the manufacturer to make that available to us.
