Bill Cooper's Relationship to the Truth
Cooper was known to brandish guns and chase off people he felt were trespassing. By late 2001, Cooper was reclusive and paranoid. The local sheriff was trying to figure out how to arrest him without bloodshed. As Cooper retreated to his house, he turned and fired, shooting one of the deputies in the head. He was shot nine times and died in a hail of gunfire.
