The Effects of Superglotic Airway Devices on Pulmonary Arrest
The first paper looked at prolonged arrests and the possible consequences of both the superglotic and intubation strategy. It was a retrospective database review of consecutive patients treated in the University of Minnesota's refractory out of hospital VF or VT, eCPR protocol. Now when it comes to what they compared the primary outcome was the pre-canulation PAO2 from the arterial gas taken at the hospital. The secondary outcomes included other bits on thearterial gas, neurologically so a CPC of 1 or 2 and also looking at the pulmonary function tests.
