The Importance of a Good Chair

I suppose something you could do is say, Hey, listen, let's require, let's bind ourselves to an 80% or a super majority on this one. We don't have an our constitution, but we do that informally with our nominations for elders. I remember one occasion where it was close, it was seven to six. It was bringing somebody back into membership who had been disciplined and the seven to sixness of it of the moment made us all feel weighty. Nonetheless, there was no choice but let that carry because the seven was against bringing them back in. So it's not the sort of thing like you could then bring them back in even though it's close.
