Pride and Prejudice
I love that it's a sort of it's a hero's journey and a love story. It's cynical and romantic at the same time, which is really difficult to combine both of those things. I didn't read Jane Austen until after university so felt like I was always very late. My favourite is Pride and Prejudice, but not because she thinks it's an amazing love story. Her mother Mrs Bennett is one of the funniest characters in literature,. if not the funniest. And Mr Bennett is such a, such a villain.
