Magaliz's River Mothers Project

Since Magaliz started the River Mothers Project, infant and maternal mortality rates in the region are down. The number of women planning their delivery and giving birth in health care centers has doubled. Today, Magaliz still travels to the Amazon every three months to train community health workers. She also goes to meet the women they assist, but she no longer travels alone.
