Is There Any Symbolism to Natural Selection Being Destroyed?

I was wondering if there was any symbolism to natural selection being destroyed. Is it saying like humanity is, is moving away from natural selection and more towards something else in the future? I don't know how much thought went into all these different ship names. It felt like it got to this crisis point a little too quick. We have John Beehai who seemed to have no interest because he realized what's going to happen eventually. At some point, why not us? So I'm also concerned that Dingu Yi will die in this chapter as well.
