The Passions of the Christ

Sed Contra: A Podcast of Catholic Theology

CHAPTER

Is There a Tension in the Desert?

Aquinas argues that for Christ, temptation has to be of an exterior kind only because he has the fullness of virtue. He can't have these sorts of inordinate desires that we experience, no concupisence whatsoever. Aquinas argues that this would have been an inappropriate use of Christ's divine power.
