Commonwealth chief executive Alan Joyce has been in the job for 15 years. The company announced that his replacement would be the group's chief financial officer Vanessa Hudson. This is arguably, you know what? Not even arguably. It is definitely the highest profile corporate job in Australia. And I bet you pretty much anything, every single person walking past would be able to pick out Mr Joyce more than any of the banks or miners because this is the people's CEO.
