John Loege Baird's original experimental apparatus from the 20s. The ventriloquist dummy that he used as part of his attempts to build early electromechanical televisions. We can see things which appear transformative, but they actually won't have the impact we think they have. And so we need to always step back and not let our first instinct say, oh, this is amazing, it's going to change the world.
