The number of workers who are quitting their jobs is the highest it's been in decades. A high quit rate is generally taken to be a sign of leverage for workers. When things are more tilted against workers, they're likelier to just take whatever bosses offer. But i think it's also this sort of sense of there's nothing left to lose. These jobs suck anyway, most of these jobs, and so why would you continue putting up with them?
