The chinese view deradicalization as a project of what we would call like ideological hygiene. It's more about thought crime, just at a different scale and using technology to do the assessment. Rather than people within the community, like mams in a mosque, who might actually know if that on i's being radicalized. Instead, they're using alberithms to predict who might have potential to be a terrorist. And it's cutting a huge swath across the entire population.
