The Importance of Creativity in Education

Maths is brilliant, it really helps. But if you haven't got the imagination to apply that maths, that's all it's ever going to be - arithmetic. And I know lots of words, but that's not why I've written a book. What helped me write the book was the imagination to put those words in a certain order to write. We don't focus on the imagination of creativity. That's seen as almost like secondary and almost brushed under the carpet. So things like art and drama and music are always going to be secondary to maths and science. The trouble is it's the creativity that takes that other stuff to the next level.
