It's fundamentally this principle from John Stuart Mill that maximizing the liberty of all subject to the like liberty of others is the goal of sort of constitutional policy as it were. And I think that's deeply objectionable for all the reasons the church teaches. It doesn't follow however that we shouldn't have a conception of rights. Right is based on you, surjustice, giving each person their due and right is that which allocated to each conducive to the common good of each and of all.
