By the beginning of 19 forty three, soviet air design was a full generation behind the standard german m e one, o nine and one nineties a. This was made worse by a new generation of pilotsa. They began to be pumped out and sent to the front lines with only 18 hours of flight time. But because the german luftwafa mostly destroyed the red air force on the ground, that meant that most of their trained pilots were still alive once replacements were built or furnished. So they bombed supply lines and railyards seemingly at will during entire build up until no one there to stop them. And only then did the soviets overwhelm the germ
