Because of this important relic, the Abby became a place of medieval pilgrimage. People came from all over to lay eyes on this thing. And then something horrible happened. Oliver Cromwell happened. He and his goons occupied Ireland for nine months in 1650. Meanwhile, the Abby fell into complete disrepair. The relic was saved though. Monks relocated it to a secret spot. They carried it away. It's a total loss. That doesn't even make sense.
