I think this is, I think this maybe ours our final word on OKRs. Yes, they're an incredible, powerful tool for alignment and probably you should be either doing them as a pro collective or as a way to try to shake things up. But the moment it becomes performative and the moment you see it as a solution for all of the other problems that you have in the moment, I guess,. You don't dare to say in the middle of the quarter, fuck the OKR. This is more important right now than they've taken over your company and they're holding a hostage. It's going to be a while before you hear us mention them again.
Jason and Eiso share their love-hate relationship with OKRs and discuss the pedantic nature of setting objectives and how they ultimately help to align and empower organizations. They talk about setting and tracking goals, the often performative nature of OKRs, and the dangers of abstracting oneself away from the product you’re building.
