The Politics of Democracy and Liberalism

To hold a political position of any type implies the existence of a group that disagrees with you. To karl schmidt, to engage in the political at all implies this friend enemy distinction. When faced with enough difference from liberal ideas, liberalism gets thrown out window as well. Liberalism allows people to avoid the political process altogether. And further allows the political to operate covertly behind the ans while politicians gallivant around in their political theatre of rational debate without ever really solving anything.
