The psychological effects of constantly subjecting yourself to propaganda generated by agenda driven media and propagated by social media cannot be overstated or ignored. Do not allow yourself to get sucked in even if all those around you are. As Ayn Rand would say, do not sacrifice this world to those who are at its worst.
