Did He Attribute His Prophecies Exclusively to Astrology Calculations?

He may have been doing something that he had been told was the way they did it, but i don't think it was the actual method. We have good evidence that he was doing astrology differently than other european astrologers. In fact, he didn't even want to be considered an astrologer in the traditional sense. He preferred to be called an astrophile, that is, a lover of the stars. It's not clear precisely what kind of instinct he's thinking of. Hypothetically, you might propose that it's just a natural instinct or gift for making predictions. But it seems more likely that he means a preternatural instinct like second sight.
