The Disorganized Context of What's Going on in France

France currently has a retirement age of 62. Most other European countries have been raising the minimum age that you can retire at from 62 up to 64, 65, 67. France has not done this. McCall had tried to do this back in I think 2019, but COVID hit. And so politically, it became unfeasible for him to push this through. There's some kind of psychological dynamic at play here that is causing him to just sort of pretend that the mass protests aren't happening.
