The Meaning of Propitiation in the Bible

The doctrine of propitiation in the Bible is a sacrifice that turns away God's wrath. The modern anti-definite atonement evangelical wants to simply say, yeah, our sins are propitiated by Christ for the whole world and we just have to believe. But John uses the same kind of language to speak about ours being Jews, those of Abraham's descent and the whole world being Gentiles.
