The question of how good the counterfactual would be depends on the minute timing of exactly when you go to the pub. So we're imagining, given a precise specification of the initial conditions and the laws of nature, we get an entire history that's determined thereafter. This is not chanceiness at all. This is under determinism. If I'd gone to the pub, somehow or other, how exactly would I have gone to thepub? And it makes a difference. Would I have entered the pub at 6.03 and 17 milliseconds, rather than 18 milliseconds? That could ultimately actually will end up affecting the identities of all people in future times.
