The Soap Opera of Delivering Change
I was employing 30 or so relatively young, very talented people. Some have come in from outside and lots of them here are civil servants. I'm sending them to meet with senior civil servants that have been around a long time. They've got to find a way of managing their way through that soap opera and being influential. There were some basic rules, like if you have a meeting with a senior person, finish it early. If there are five people in the room, you better have a good reason for talking for more than 20% of the time.
