And really the answer as far as I know is no that pretty much everything is going to be somewhat transparent at some wavelengths and somewhat opaque at other wavelengths. In particular if you go to x-ray, the x-ray regime, almost nothing stops x-rays. So we now rely on what we know from the periodic table of elements and lead is this dense material that we use. But in the future, there may be an even better metamaterial that relies on some unique structure to deflect certain rays.
