Is the Tendency Ever So Strong That You Must Have Facing the Short Side?

During that period, we did not massively outperform the S&P over our 20 year history. Our longs have outperformed the index by about the same amount as our shorts have underperformed the index. We didn't do the true bad that we didn't own thanks stocks. But we felt like where we add value to investors is coming up with ideas that they couldn't come up with themselves.
