The urban legend is that the Japanese executives loved being near bourbon and horse racing. There's something to, I mean, at that, like, the Kentucky bourbon industry was basically bailed out by Japanese consumers in the 80s. And a lot of people, and this gets to the whole thing, we think of Detroit and we imagine factories closing,. But there's still thousands of suppliers and small shops that they didn't stop.
