In this study they looked at adults who had a head injury and a GCS of 12 or less or those with intracranial bleeding visible on their CT. There was no significant difference in 28 day in hospital head injury associated mortality in patients assigned within three hours of injury, so it had a relative risk of 0.94 with confidence intervals that just crossed one, so 0.86 to 1.02. The committee considered that despite the uncertainty around the effect estimates the benefit of 2 grams TXA for reducing all cause mortality with no evidence of negative effects when compared to placebo.
